All About the HyperTransport Bus

Better than FSB for multi-processor configurations
by Adrian Offerman

August 30, 2007 - Hardware Secrets publishes a tutorial on the HyperTransport bus used by all modern AMD processors. Theoretically the architecture used on AMD64 processors is better than the classic Front-Side Bus (FSB), since they can communicate with the memory and with other PC components (like the video card) at the same time. Intel's future move to the Common Systems Interconnect (CSI) proves AMD to be right concerning multi-processor configurations.
