Core 2 Quad Extreme QX6800: the ultimate machine for power users and gamers

April 9, 2007 - Today, Intel introduced its fastest Core 2 processor. Featuring four cores in a two-by-two configuration, the QX6800 is aimed at power users and enthusiasts.

The new processor is a member of the Core 2 Quad Extreme series. In fact, it's the Quad-Core version of the Dual-Core Extreme X6800. The QX6800 comes with a two-by-two shared L2 cache of 2x 4 Mbyte, and runs at 266/2933 GHz. An unlocked multiplier makes this CPU a great toy for tweakers and overclockers.
